HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair
6-8 November 2014 (Thursday - Saturday)

The fair rides on Hong Kong’s international status as a key Asian wine hub, with a significant pool of experienced fine wine merchants. Only Hong Kong has an agreement with the mainland Chinese government that allows wine imports to enter the country under CEPA, while it also has co-operation agreements with 13 major wine-producing countries and regions around the world. Plus, hardly a day goes by without the sound of corks being pulled at a wine-related activity, including wine tastings, receptions and food pairings, somewhere in the city.
Asian demand stays strong with high business potential. Consumers are becoming increasingly wine savvy. Euromonitor International reports that wine sales in Asia amounted to US$70.7 billion, or 5.9 billion litres in 2012, up 64% and 45% respectively compared to previous five years, with sales forecast to grow 11% per annum in value terms up to 2017. Growth in China is even more spectacular, with sales up 125% over the same period. Annual sales with forecast growth of 17% in value terms up to 2017.
